Fat Bike Open: Second place
On a chilly Saturday afternoon, I decided to test my skills on the fat bike. A bike that has big tires and can ride in the snow. I had never actually been on one, but I thought the best way to test the waters would be to sign up for the Fat Bike Open and compete with a few other crazy people interested in riding around the Nordic Center in Breckenridge. Nearly 70 curious bikers competed in the inaugural Fat Bike Open at Gold Run Nordic Center in Breckenridge.

I would say it is different than mountain biking, but as we all rounded the first corner, you knew that a wipe out was a big possibility. You could consider it more snow sliding and uno skidding. Find the race results.....
Little did I know that the competition was high including mountain bike rock star, Sarah Rawley. Through out the entire race, I had her in my sights, but could not seem to move any faster to catch her. All in all, Fat Biking is a hoot and an extreme sport I would like to be a part of in the future.
